I'm looking for some information on the percentage of Americans that are exercising on a regular basis. Does anyone know of some links to surveys of American health and exercise? Statistics on the percentage of Americans engaging in strength training would also be helpful.
Just a thought, but aren't the British the FATTEST in Europe?? I wonder what percentage of them excercise??
American is the most obese country in the world. I am guessing that % is low.
Now that I got that out of the way....
A lot of it will depend greatly on demographic, location, etc.what percentage of americans exercise People with more money will be more inclined to work out as they are not struggling to make ends meet. Younger people are more inclined to work out as they go places often enough and still try to look good at the pool. People in warmer climates tend to work out more as it is easier to get outside and play instead of just sitting in the gym.
So even if you did find a raw % of Americans who exercise, it will be greatly skewed data. Im guessing people in Florida and California work out more than they would in North Dakota and Iowa. People in FL and CA are on what percentage of americans exercisethe beach often, so they worry more about what they look like in a swim suit, etc.
Likewise people who live in the Bronx versus living in Beverly hills will also have different data as some can afford expensive hobbies involving exercise and afford memberships to the club, while the other cannot.
Need to narrow your search if you want more accurate data.
if you consider climbing in an out of your car as exercise.
depends what u deefine as "excercise", but 1 in 4
According to CDC survey completed in 2007, only 30% get adequate exercise.
