I am running on Windows XP SP2, but when I plug in the cord in the USB slot, it detects it, but it states that I need a driver for it. I have been unsuccessful in finding a driver for it. It is a Compaq 4 slot USB hub. I have looked on Compaq's website, but they have no drivers for it. It also did not include a usb hub driver downloadCD for any drivers. Thanks.
USB hub doesn't need driver. If you have problem detecting the hub, try to reinstall USB port on your computer. Note that the driver of USB port may be installed, but conflict with other software in your PC. Go to device manager to check if there is anything wrong or missing driver in yusb hub driver downloadour PC.
that should be a plug and play, so if it is not recognizing it there might be something wrong.
I'd probably buy a new USB hub not of the same brand, because generic USB hubs, to my knowledge, shouldn't need their own drivers. Maybe it's not a generic USB hub?
enable usb on the bios
